Frequently asked questions

I'm not receiving dose reminders. What should I check?

First, make sure Dose Reminders are turned on in the app under Settings → Notifications. Then check your iPhone's Settings app → Notifications → Vessalia Health and confirm notifications are allowed. If you use Focus modes (like Do Not Disturb or Sleep), add Vessalia Health to the allowed apps so reminders come through.

How do I mark a dose as taken from the notification?

Press and hold the reminder notification (or pull it down), and you'll see three actions: Mark as Taken, Snooze, and Skip. You can log the dose without ever opening the app.

How do I edit or pause a medication?

Open the Medications tab and tap a medication's card, or press and hold it for quick actions. From there you can Edit any detail (dose, schedule, color, supply), or Pause the medication to stop reminders without deleting your history. Resume anytime the same way.

How do daily health check-ins work?

Turn on Health Tracking in Settings, and a Daily Check-in card appears on Today. Tap it to see your measures, then pick one to enter it on its own page. Add more from "Add a Measure," where measures are grouped by category — vitals, symptoms, mood, sleep, nutrition, metabolic, and dedicated groups for women's, men's, and transgender health — or create your own. Side effects have their own card, and your conditions and appointments live on Today too.

What is Vessy, and is it private?

Vessy is the assistant built into Vessalia Health, powered by Apple Intelligence. You can type something in everyday words — like "took my metformin and slept 6 hours" — and Vessy turns it into entries for you to review before anything is saved. It can also explain what a medication does in easy-to-understand terms, write short summaries of your trends, and help fill in a new medication. Everything runs on your iPhone: there's no account and no server, and nothing you tell Vessy ever leaves your device. Vessy needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence; you can turn it on or off in Settings, and the app works fully without it.

Can I track medical bills and money?

Yes — open the Finances tab. Track medical bills (with due-date reminders) and reimbursements, watch an HSA or FSA balance count down as you pay bills, and store your insurance plans and card photos. You can attach a receipt or photo to any item, and Vessy can capture a bill or reimbursement from a quick description.

Where do I keep documents and lab results?

Use the Documents card on Today. Add PDFs or photos — lab results, letters, forms, anything worth keeping — and they're grouped by category for easy browsing. Like everything else, they stay on your device.

How does My Healthcare Team work?

Open Appointments and tap My Healthcare Team to keep every doctor, pharmacy, and specialist together, each with tap-to-call, directions, and the conditions and medications tied to them. Vessy can build the list for you from the prescribers on your medications and the clinics on your appointments. Editing a provider's details updates the matching medications too.

What widgets are available?

Vessalia Health includes five widgets for your Home and Lock Screen: Next Dose (with a one-tap Take button), Today's Doses (your progress), Adherence (your streak), Next Appointment, and Daily Check-in. Long-press your Home Screen, tap the "+" or Edit, search "Vessalia," and add the ones you want. They refresh on their own and show real data from the app.

Can I back up my data to iCloud?

Yes, optionally. In Settings → Data → iCloud Backup, turn on "Back up to iCloud" to save a backup to your own private iCloud, so you can restore it on a new device with "Restore from iCloud." It's off until you enable it, uses your personal iCloud (which only you can see), and never goes to us. If iCloud isn't set up on your device, the backup is kept locally instead.

Does Vessalia Health work with Apple Health?

Yes, optionally. In Settings → Health Tracking, turn on "Sync with Apple Health" and grant permission. Measures such as weight, blood pressure, glucose, temperature, and cycle data then sync both ways with Apple Health; other measures stay in the app. Sync is off until you enable it, runs entirely through Apple's on-device HealthKit, and you can turn it off or revoke access anytime.

Can I track medications for more than one person?

Yes. Turn on Caregiver Mode in Settings to create up to five separate profiles, each with its own medications, schedules, and history. Switch between them from the top of any main screen. Turn Caregiver Mode off and everything collapses back to a single profile — your data is kept, just hidden.

How does supply / refill tracking work?

Turn on "Track supply" when adding or editing a medication and enter how many doses you have. The count goes down automatically each time you log a dose. When it reaches your low-supply threshold (set in Settings → Notifications), you'll get a refill reminder. Add a refill from the medication's detail page.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Go to Settings → Data. You can export your dose history as a CSV spreadsheet or your complete data (medications, health check-ins, and history) as JSON, and share it anywhere — email, Files, AirDrop, or print for your doctor.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Data → Clear All Data permanently deletes all medications, health data, and history from your device. Deleting the app does the same. Because nothing is ever stored outside your device, there's nothing else to delete anywhere. Anything you previously synced to Apple Health stays in Apple Health — remove it there if you'd like.

Is my health information private?

Completely. All data is stored only on your iPhone. Vessalia Health has no servers, no account system, no analytics, and no third-party advertising or tracking services. Vessy runs on Apple Intelligence right on your device, so nothing you tell it is sent anywhere. Nothing you enter ever leaves your device unless you choose to — by exporting a file, turning on optional Apple Health sync, or turning on the optional backup to your own private iCloud. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Does Face ID lock protect my data?

When enabled (Settings → Security), Vessalia Health requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode every time the app opens. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS — the app never sees or stores your biometric data.

Can I use it for vitamins and supplements?

Absolutely. Add anything you take on a schedule — prescriptions, vitamins, supplements, drops, injections, or inhalers — each with its own form, dose, schedule, color, and icon.
